Family Background: Floyd is the son of Alva and Florence Doring. Floyd, a native of Niagara Falls, has resided on Grand Island with his wife, Chie, for the last forty five years. Their only child, Kevin and his wife Dawn also are Islanders.
Real Estate Background: Floyd has been serving Western New York as a REALTOR® for the past forty two years. He has been the President of two real estate companies and has been affiliated with several others. Floyd has been named in Who’s Who of Western New York REALTORS® . Over his career, he has sold more than 2000 homes. He has served as Director of the Buffalo Board of REALTORS® and President of the Niagara Falls Board of REALTORS® .
Community Involvement: Floyd has always been very active in his community. As a former President and Director of the Grand Island Lions Club and he has given generously of time and money to that civic organization over the last fifteen years. He served on the Board of Directors as a Vice President of the Grand Island Chamber of Commerce. He also is a master mason. Floyd was awarded the Grand Island Citizen of the Year in 1990.
Biography: After attending LaSalle High School in Niagara Falls, Floyd served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. Following his military service, Floyd married Chie and had his son, Kevin, before making the decision in 1962 to become a REALTOR® .
Not only has Floyd held offices and been a member of organization on the Island over the years, he has also actively raised money independently to support many worthy causes. Floyd founded the Grand Island Lawnmower races held annually for many years to support Children’s Hospital. The community thought it was such a fun idea and worthy cause he was featured on the local news.
